Affiliate Marketing For Merchants “

When it comes to affiliate marketing, many people are involved on the affiliate end, rather than the merchant end. However, a growing number of average folks are establishing e-commerce websites, where they are selling their own line of products or services. If you are one of these people, think about the marketing options available to you. Search engines, pay-per-clicks and e-mail marketing…each of which, while effective, can cost you a lot of time and money. Why not let other people use these means to promote your website for you? If you think this is a good idea and decide to act upon it, you would be engaging in the merchant end of affiliate marketing.

On the merchant end of affiliate marketing, you have control over what your affiliates can promote and how they get paid. Most merchants pay when a sale or lead has commenced, though there are pay-per-click and pay-per-impression affiliate programs available. The latter two are recommended if you are looking to build traffic quickly, though you should make sure that your affiliates don’t use unethical, black-hat techniques to draw traffic to your website. In either case you can further reward your affiliates by offering payment in a system of tiers. Tiers could be used if an affiliate has reached a certain threshold of products sold or leads generated. They could also be used to reward affiliates who are able to get new affiliates to sign up for your program. Additional rewards can be provided through individualized commission rates, where you can give your higher-producing affiliates the opportunity to earn more money for themselves and your business.

How do you get started with the merchant side of affiliate marketing? You could buy affiliate marketing scripts, though if you do not have sufficient knowledge of HTML Javascript don’t bother. Another option is signing up with an affiliate marketing service such as Commission Junction. The advantage with this is that the service takes care of managing your affiliate program for you, along with the payments but it could take hundreds of dollars to get started. The best way to go about the merchant end of affiliate marketing is to find a web host that provides affiliate marketing tools within its account manager. Frontier Power Hosting, a premier hosting service used by Internet gurus such as Jim Edwards and Armand Morin, offers affiliate marketing tools to its customers at no additional cost.

Once you have gotten your affiliate program set up, it’s time to look for affiliates. The quickest way to do this is to advertise your affiliate opportunity in Internet marketing forums. However, keep in mind that the field of affiliate marketing is very competitive… you must offer rates and/or special incentives that separate you from another merchant.
You will also have to prove that you will pay, something that affiliates won’t know about until they actually work with you. To increase the confidence of potential affiliate marketing candidates, consider signing up for the Better Business Bureau. Through this company, your business will be evaluated periodically. As long as you do the right thing, they will give you a good rating, something that is very attractive to both future customers and affiliate marketers.

But before you pick one of these claiming best affiliate programs, have you given some sort of thorough consideration regarding who the moneymaker is and who reaps out the handsomest benefits in the use of the so-called best affiliate programs? Let us deal with the basics then. What is your role as an affiliate? Generally, your ultimate role as an affiliate is to publicize the services or goods which you are assigned to market in the internet. What do you get out of becoming an affiliate?

Your efforts will surely pay off since you are granted a deciphered commission as per the stipulated rate by the merchant of the said services or products. By looking in its stricter sense, your task of being an affiliate heaps on you the work to enrich someone who does nothing of the hard dose of work that you attend to. It is the owner of the goods or services that really benefit from your being an affiliate. You must not likewise forget that the merchant has a lot of other affiliate contacts aside from you. So, when your efforts are all concerted, you may just imagine how lucky the business owner can be.

So you will realize that being an affiliate is really a difficult task on your part. More so, the websites that offer you the best affiliate programs that you may make use of in your quest to serve someone may not really be what it appears to be. You do not exactly know which affiliate programs will work best for you. Here are a few reminders that you must consume time on as you choose from a myriad of those claiming to be the best affiliate programs: Look into the size of the commission rate. You become an affiliate because you want to earn money. You do not want also your painstaking effort to end up futile, right? Therefore, before enlisting yourself as an affiliate, first try to figure out the saleable nature of the item. The more sales you make, the higher your commissions can be. Be aware of its compatibility. One affiliate program can only be tagged as the best if it is compatible with the website you maintain. It is best that you shop around for the list of affiliate programs therein. If you are unconvinced yourself, then it can pose the same effect to the website visitors. Focus on the promotional tools. Traffic is the key to your achieving the commission you deserve. The banners and other advertising tools will help a lot in your reaching out to your potential clients. There is really no such thing as a best affiliate program. It will truly depend on your own tactic and management skills. So be not taken by the glitters of the promises of these affiliate programs.

This will all depend on the arrangement between the two during the negotiation. In the pay-per-click program, affiliates are paid by the merchant based on the number of visitors who click on the link that leads to the merchant's site. An affiliate will still be paid whether there is or there is no purchase done. In the last method, the merchant pays affiliates based on the volume of visitors they were able to refer to sign up as leads. Guidelines to Follow When Choosing a Profitable Affiliate Program

When it comes to choosing an affiliate program, do you know what to look for you? If this is your first time joining an affiliate program, you are urged to keep on reading. Below are some guidelines that you may want to think about following. Perhaps, the most important thing that you need to remember, when choosing an affiliate program, is to not pick the first affiliate program that you come across. This is a big mistake that many affiliate program participants make. Unfortunately for you, this can be a costly mistake. What many do not realize is that the product you choose to promote will reflect on you and your business. That is why it is important that you take the time to thoroughly examine an affiliate program first. You will want to choose an affiliate program that involves a product that you can stand behind, one hundred percent. One of the best ways to know that you are dealing with a legitimate affiliate program and a quality product is to test that product out. Although you are advised to do this, you may not want to or you may be unable to do so. If that is the case, you can still research an affiliate program or even the product that is being sold. You can easily do this online. One of the best ways to do your research is to perform a standard internet search. Search with the name of the affiliate program or the product being sold. You can also check out websites that are known as scam websites. These websites tend to profile companies, individuals, or business opportunities that regularly scam consumers. Before applying for or signing up for an affiliate program, you are advised to read all of the rules, restrictions, or guidelines associated with that affiliate program. Unfortunately, you may find yourself disqualified from an affiliate program right off the bat. For instance, there are a large number of affiliate programs that prohibit their products from being advertised on websites that display pornography, foul language, and other offensive content. Familiarizing yourself with an affiliate program’s rules and guidelines will prevent you from being denied from a program or later dismissed from one. Perhaps, one of the most important things to remember, when choosing an affiliate program, is the product that you will have to sell. In conjunction with making sure that the product is a quality one, you will also want to make sure that it is related to your website or business, in one way or another. For instance, if your own website focuses on computer programming, you will not want to join an affiliate program that sells pet products. Joining an affiliate program that is related, in one way or another, to your own website may increase your chances of making a sale; thus increasing your profits. Although it is important to choose a quality product to stand behind, you also need to remember that your goal is to make money. One of the easiest ways to make a substantial amount of money is to choose an affiliate program that pays their affiliates decently. The average commission for affiliates is three to five percent of each sale made. While this is a good percentage to make, there are higher paying affiliate programs. You may want to look for affiliate programs that pay around ten percent. In fact, there are even a select number of affiliate programs that pay around fifteen percent in commissions. The above mentioned guidelines are just a few of the many that you will want to take into consideration, when choosing an affiliate program. Although the above mentioned points are helpful, the most important thing to keep in mind is your judgment. Using your best judgment is the easiest way to choose an effective affiliate program. If carefully chosen, you could easily make a full-time living just with affiliate programs.

Building Your Small Business Leadership Pipeline

Times have changed and so has the competitive landscape of business management. Traditional business models told business owners and executives that to become more competitive, you had to invent something new to sell or service, or improve an existing product or service. That was all there was to it. In general terms, the inputs and outputs haven’t changed much, but companies are continuously changing their internal processes to improve company performance. How so and what does this mean to the business world?Repeat after me, “I will make a concerted effort to obtain top talent.”For smaller businesses, this presents a problem. Often, smaller businesses don’t have the capital to hire superstars, and in some areas, the superstars just aren’t there. Case in point: Metropolitan New Orleans, post-Katrina. So what is a business to do when they can’t always find “the best”?There is a solution to the depleted leadership pool. “If you can’t find them, then make them.” Remember. Leaders are created, not born. The process began with parents, teachers, and coaches. With any luck, some leadership skills were transferred during college and military stints. Often though, a person’s leadership development stagnates when he or she takes a job. It’s a shame. Many potential leaders have been ruined by a lack of mentoring, coaching, bonding, and training. However, you don’t have to let this happen. By taking a proactive approach to your business leadership, you can keep your pipeline filled with home-grown leadership candidates. Instead of searching outwards for the “perfect” candidate, you can develop the characteristics and skills of the people you have now. Leadership is an ongoing process and keeping the flow going, you can continue to improve. Look for That SparkBy spark, I mean the natural ability to communicate with people. Add to that, look for the ability to connect - meaning the ability to communicate and relate to people and build on this. The ability to connect is absolutely necessary because as a leader, one must have the ability to win others over. Communication, connecting, and relating are skills required to persuade…without a hammer or whip.Train a cross section of promotable candidates on a regular basisCreate Development PlansCreate development plans for the individuals with that spark. Teach them to leverage the talents that they already have and help them figure out their leadership performance gaps. Encourage them to leverage their current talents and persuade them to develop in other areas where their skills are inadequate for a leadership role.Don’t: Use cookie cutter development plans for all candidates. I know it’s easy to point, click, and email, but it cheapens the process…it makes it seem less sincere and more obligatory.Do: Create specific plans for the individual. It makes the candidates feel special…like you’ve got an interest and a stake in their professional well being. After all…you do!Coach and Mentor…Continuously, Without AnnoyingCoaching and mentoring are crucial.
The process starts with a relationship between you and the candidate then continues with regular bonding and nurturing. It sounds kind of “touchy-feely,” I know, but the relationship, bonding, and nurturing sessions are critical to the molding process of the candidate. You must coach candidates with the intent of creating a business partner. Get their opinion on current company challenges (be careful of the can of worms you open here.) It’s a great conversation starter and a chance to help mold their thinking about certain business topics. Discuss together how you intend to combat them. Let them in on some info that’s not confidential, but not readily available to the troops. A great technique is to allow them to observe management meetings (With the exception of certain confidential meetings.) You are beginning to let them into your circle of leadership. Watch them blossom as they begin to feel like they are part of “The Club.”Don’t: Coach for the sake of coaching…meaning, don’t coach if you don’t have anything to coach on. It’s both annoying and ineffective.Do: Encourage dialogue by asking questions and telling stories. Tell stories that relate to a topic that you would like to discuss, though you should at least attempt to keep it the context of business.Classroom TrainingI recommend that you create or outsource leadership and management training for the existing leaders and for the candidates. It’s a great refresher for existing leaders and a great learning tool for prospective leaders. It’s important that you continue to train and develop your leaders and your workforce. Remember that training is a process, not an event. You should concentrate on basic leadership skills as well as management but remember to place the emphasis on leading people.Don’t: Do a mass training event every few years with large time gaps between sessions.Do: Establish an ongoing training program. Choose attendees for the monthly/quarterly sessions based on their specific needs, as documented in their development plans. Breaking the training up into monthly or quarterly sessions helps spread the costs out over time as well. These recommendations seem difficult en masse, but if you break them into phases or projects, it’ll be much easier to handle. If you do the things mentioned above, you’ll have a much better chance of creating a team of superstar leaders. These superstars will align team actions with company goals and ultimately pave the way for your company’s success.Mosaic Business Solutions, LLC is a New Orleans-based consulting firm specializing in Organizational Development, Leadership, Sales, and Customer Service training. Affiliates! - How To Pick A Niche You Can Really Sell To!

If you are having a little trouble trying to decide what niche you could promote an affiliate product to, this article should give you food for thought!
Thousands of people make great money from promoting Clickbank products, including myself. Of course there are other affiliate programs out there as well (and plenty of them) where you can find products to promote.
But there are a lot of great products on Clickbank to promote. The thing is, you have to promote products that you truly believe in and that you feel confident will actually help the people you are promoting to. This may mean you have to buy the product or ask for a review copy.
A good thing to focus on when doing your niche research, is to find products that help people to solve a problem. If you make a list of problems that people experience you will have a ton of target markets to go after. Then pick one to start, and then tighten that niche right down.
Here's what I mean...
Inital target market = Dog owners
Overall Niche: Dog health/illnesses/ailments
Tighter niche: kidney failure in dogs
Even tighter niche: Kidney failure in Cocker Spaniels (or Alsations, or bulldogs etc)
I'm not suggesting that is a good market at this stage, what i'm showing you is how to think of a problem that people have, how to tighten that problem niche right down to a specific target market and a very tight niche, (the tighter the niche the better in a lot of cases).
When you have identified a niche you are interested in, you will want to enter it into Google in quotes, like this...
"Kidney failure in Cocker Spaniels" and see what comes up. I've just done this on the fly and there is only one Google adwords advertiser, whose ad is pointing to a herbal dog remedy (with no affiliate program).
With only one advertiser, there may not be a market, or maybe we need to make the niche LESS tight, so let's go up a level, back to "kidney failure in dogs".
Enter that in Google and we get a couple more advertisers, but only that one again on the herbal remedy thing. OK not looking great at this stage, BUT....
This little bit of research activity has shown me that there is a company called http://www.1800petmeds.com/ that offer treatments for all kinds of pet ailments AND they have an affiliate program. Hmmm....
See where a little research can lead you? It might take you in another direction slightly but that's how researching a niche works.
I do know that a lot of people around the world have dogs of all breeds that die of kidney failure (I had a dog that eventually died of just that illness). Oprah Winfrey's Cocker Spaniel died of kidney failure (I only know that from the Google search I just did above ;0)
What you do see when you do that search on kidney failure in dogs is that there is a ton of information that you could research to write your own ebook product (or have it written). This ebook would be bought by most dog owners who have a pet that is suffering in this way. And these people are urgently in need of the information right away!
They want all the research done for them, they haven't got time to do all that research for themselves, so when they find someone who has done it all for them and put it in an ebook that they can download right now, they'll grab it.

They have a pressing and urgent need to solve a problem!
OK. How can we find out if there is a market for our ebook product (either that we've written ourselves or we've found an affiliate ebook product to promote on this subject?) Well, we go to...
https://adwords.google.com/select/K...ToolExternal
This Google keyword research tool is free and only recently Google have included in the results the number of average monthly searches they receive for each keyword or keyword phrase. There are perhaps better keyword research tools around but this one is free, so i'll just use that in this example.
So, I just used that tool and found out that Google say they have 4,400 searches a month for the keyword phrase "kidney failure in dogs". Hmmm... very interesting. Looks like this could be a market!
And remember, that's just the searches on Google and doesn't include other major search engine results. Also, with the tool mentioned above, Google also shows us that there is not too much competition for this particular niche.
We also see that the keyword phrase "renal failure in dogs" has an average of 1,900 searches a month, again with little competition.
Why is there little affiliate competition? Well, it could be that there are no affiliate products to promote in this niche or simply that nobody has yet created an ebook for this niche?
So why not create one yourself and see what happens? And the tool above will also show related search terms that you can use as chapter headings or subject matter in your new ebook :o)
Just a thought! I'm not suggesting that you dash right out and do that (although you can if you want to), but the above is an example of how to identify a target niche that you can sell to.
Hope that helps. http://www.CaseStudyCashClub.com/buildanonlineincome.html http://www.InfoProductsMadeEasy.com

The Two Most Successful Blog Business Models - Adsense

Entrepreneurs have two different business models that they use in order to make money from blogs.
The first way that they make money is they sell advertising to different companies and make money when the blog's readers click on advertising or click through and make a purchase. These blogs use affiliate programs and Adsense to generate revenues.
The second way that they make money from blogs is by helping a single brand improve its image by creating a positive association, between the blog and the product, in the mind of the consumers.
If the creator of the blogs has a good mind for marketing, both of the blog business models can make a lot of money.
If your goal is to sell advertising on your blog there are two ways that you can go about finding ways to generate an income with your blog. The first way is to let someone else do all the work to find the advertisers or you can do all the work yourself and keep all of the revenue rather than paying out a portion to someone else.
In the first way, you will be able to keep all the revenues yourself. Many people make money with blogs by selling space through the Google AdSense program. There are many advantages to this program, because it requires little work on the part of the blogger in order to start making profits. You will find, however, that you will make less money on this method than you hoped to earn. But, you can make a fortune if you do it right.
Selling advertising directly to companies that want to put an ad on your site, can be extremely lucrative. You would only want to do this if you have a lot of people that you already know in the industries related to the topic of your blog.
You would have to have a strong background in sales and have to be able to pitch proposals. If you can do this you can make a lot of money renting real estate space on your blog to different companies. The downside, is that you would have to build up a large readership before advertisers will pay you money. It could take several months of hard work before you will see a profit from your blog.
As blogging becomes more and more profitable, many established companies will consider how they can get into blogging. One of the ways that companies can get into the action is by having their own blogs. The blog can provide a friendly face for their corporation. Companies will often hire established bloggers to create a weblog for their company. Bloggers are getting hired by companies to make and run blogs that help the company build a positive image to their company. This maybe a route that you can take to have blog success.
Consider these two ways that you can make bucks from your blog. Start a blog today. It is easier than you think.

Make Money with Google AdWords - Affiliate Marketing

In my last article I touched on a few different ways to make money online. One of the simplest ways to do this is to use Google AdWords to market products for which you are an affiliate. One of the best affiliate programs available is ClickBank. They have hundreds of items available for affiliate marketing. They don't allow any products that aren't digital, available for immediate download. It takes only a few minutes to get signed up as an affiliate, and it costs nothing. The signup form is here. Once you have an affiliate account with ClickBank, you need to log in, and find a product you want to market. This can be done at the ClickBank Marketplace. The products are ranked using a proprietary system designed by ClickBank. This system attempts to place the products most likely to make you money at the top of the list. It takes into consideration several factors, including previous sales trends, and conversion rates. (A conversion rate is the percentage of visitors who are referred to a site that actually purchase the product described). Go to the marketplace, and pick a product you'd like to market. Look at the product's home page, and decide whether it's something you think people will be interested in. Look at the cost of the product, and the percentage commission you will earn for sales. Obviously the higher the commission the better, but picking a product that sells well is more important than picking a product with a high commission. Once you've found your product, click the link that says "Earn X%". This will pop up a window telling you what your affiliate link should be for this seller. Copy the link down, and save it for the time being. Next you need to find a way to get people to click this link. As you may have guessed by now, Google's AdWords program is the easiest way to get started. The other option is to start your own web site, but this takes some time and quite a bit more effort. I'll cover some of these topics in coming articles. For now we'll focus on AdWords. First, you'll need to sign up for an AdWords account. Go to the main AdWords site and click the button labeled "Click to begin". You'll need to tell Google a few things about your target market, and then you can create an ad. I'll go into more detail about how to create the perfect ad a bit later, but for now I'll focus on a few important things. First, make sure you read the Editorial Guidelines for AdWords. There's a link on the page where you're setting up your ad. One thing to note is that Google requires you to put the word "Affiliate" or "Aff." in your ad so people know you're an affiliate. You also can't do things like use a bunch of exclamation marks or type your ad all in caps. There's an automated review process which will catch most of these errors, and a human review process which will catch most things not caught by the automated review. Enough of what not to do. Try to make your ad eye-catching, without violating the guidelines. Use active verbs, and make sure you use relevant keywords you think potential customers might be searching for. Google will highlight keywords in your ad when they're part of the user's search phrase. Once you've created your ad text and gotten past the automated review, you're ready to choose keywords. Choose the keywords you think are most relevant to your product. Even if you can create an ad with a fantastic click through rating that drives hordes of people to your affiliate link, you won't make any money unless those people actually buy the product. Type in some keywords, and use the "Keyword Tool" on the right hand side of the page to get suggestions from Google. Also think about common misspellings for keywords. This can be a good way to get some cheap clicks that are still relevant. You'll next have to determine how much you are willing to pay. The best strategy is to start out small. Spending even $10 per day can give you an idea of what might work and what might not. Once you have an ad that's working, and you've made a couple of sales, you can increase your max cost per day. Keep in mind that if you have high demand keywords, and a low maximum Cost Per Click, your ad may never get shown, or it may be shown on page 99 of the Google results. You need to find a balance between paying $5 for a single click, and not having your ad shown at all. Usually the "recommendations" made by Google are way too high, and will cause you to go broke in a hurry. Almost done now. You'll now need to finish signing up for your account. You'll need a credit card so Google can charge you when your ads are clicked. They'll add everything up and charge you once per month or so for all of your clicks. Do be careful about spending your entire budget on the first day. You'll need a couple weeks at least to try to evaluate what works and what doesn't. Don't be afraid to start small, and work your way up slowly to making more sales. Increase Your Online Sales With Third Party Affiliate Networks

Third party affiliate networks such as Commission Junction, LinkShare, Shareasale and ClickBank are essential resources for the serious online affiliate marketer. They provide the affiliate marketer with products to sell, website content, hourly stats, complete tracking and collecting services. More importantly they send out your monthly commission checks. If you’re new to online affiliate marketing, perhaps a brief explanation is needed. Any webmaster or marketer can join an affiliate program and place affiliate links on their websites or blogs; if a visitor to your site clicks on one of your affiliate links or banners and goes to that company’s site and buys a product or signs up for a service - you earn a commission for having referred that customer. A commission can run from a few cents to hundreds of dollars or more, depending on the product’s price and your percentage of the sale. Third party affiliate networks are like Mega Affiliate Sites. View them as malls for the online affiliate marketer - there are thousands of companies under one roof or control panel. An affiliate can join a third party network like LinkShare and once accepted, you will be able to access and promote thousands of high profile companies like Apple, Dell, RadioShack... The affiliate then uses the merchant’s banners, online coupons, or text link codes to promote their chosen merchants. The main advantage of using a program like LinkShare and those mentioned above, you can easily join and control all your affiliate links and codes through one site. Its acts like an agent for marketers - it will work on your behalf for a small percentage of the commissions. Only drawback, expect to earn slightly less than if you dealt directly with the merchants involved because these third party programs do take their cut. I have been working all of the above programs for years, mainly with my main marketing website www.bizwaremagic.com. The following are some pointers you may find helpful if you’re planning on trying any or all of these programs. First, like most people starting an online business, my skeptic’s thinking was in overdrive - I had many doubts and misgivings. I have a background in art and even as a very minor fine artist I have had a lot of experiences with art dealers and gallery owners. Most of my artworks were sold on consignment and sometimes just getting your commission checks was either a constant pain or a very long wait, usually two to three months. I expected the same with working on the Internet, I had preconceived ideas that have been proven totally false. To my complete surprise all of my dealings with these companies have been very professional and pleasantly rewarding. These companies do send you your commissions and most send them on a regular and timely basis. Anyone who is used to getting a regular paycheck every two weeks may also be surprised, like I was, to get 10 - 20 regular checks each month. For the first couple of months I was operating in a ‘shock and awe’ mode. Commission Junction One of the first affiliate programs I used was Commission Junction (www.cj.com). It was acquired by ValueClick in 2003 and they have around 1300 companies from which you may choose to promote. Most merchants offer pay-per-sale or pay-per-lead, many merchants offer performance bonuses. You also have the option of direct deposit for your payments. They pay monthly and they pay regularly. The way their control panel or monthly stats are handled does take some getting used to at first, but once you start working CJ, things run very smoothly and they have the best reporting and tracking of all these programs. One major plus, they tell you which companies are earning the most money for affiliates... you can then judge which merchants are worth promoting on the Internet. Commissions are different for each company, some go as high as 50%. Linkshare LinkShare (www.linkshare.com) is one of the oldest affiliate programs on the web. It has just been taken over by the Japanese Portal Rakuten, with a price tag of $425M. I expect the quality of Linkshare to go up in the coming months with the recent appointment of Steven R. Denton as President. Linkshare’s Statistics and reporting are very comprehensive with their SynergyAnalytics system. Top brand merchants make this program worth your while. It has a large number of Fortune 500 companies that provide the affiliate marketer with well known products to promote. Some of my checks from them have been very slow in coming but they do arrive but this area in my opinion has to be improved upon. Hopefully, the Japanese takeover will improve things. Shareasale Shareasale (www.shareasale.com) is also a very easy system to work. It has good stats and joining merchants is a breeze. It has around 1,700 Merchants to choose from. I only have a few programs with Shareasale so my experience is limited, but they do send their checks out on time , usually the month following your sales. The control panel is easy to use and reporting is also excellent. ClickBank ClickBank (www.clickbank.com) is a little different in that it deals mainly in digital download products. The commissions from ClickBank are much higher, usually around 40% to 50% or even higher. Personally, although I have a marketing website, I have found selling marketing-info products to be the toughest niche to crack. Mainly because you have stiff competition from the best Internet Marketers who have large contact lists and know exactly what they’re doing. To further explain, these top marketers will often offer a whole array of their own bonuses when marketing a high ticket item - this tactic will quickly eat up a large share of customers who want to buy any given product. Other niche products through ClickBank sell better. The same principle holds true for all these programs, little known niches will offer quicker returns for the beginning marketer. Needless to say, you will have better success if you tie in your affiliate companies or products directly to the subject or topic of your website or blog. Whether it be home entertainment systems, gardening equipment or Mediterranean cruises - you will have a better conversion rate (number of sales/compared to number of visitors) if you pick products directly related to your site’s content. ClickBank has over 10,000 products that a marketer or webmaster can promote. ClickBank also pays every two weeks. They will hold back a small percentage to cover charge-backs, but you receive this hold back a little later. Small price to pay for getting your checks every two weeks. ClickBank has the least user-friendly online stats of all these programs, although it now offers a search engine to help you find your products to market. I have always found it difficult to check which product has sold, so many nicknames for the different products, I find it hard to keep track of what products are selling. Although you can buy software programs to solve this problem. Amazon Amazon is another online company that also handles some third party orders. ToysRus is one of their merchants. Very good stats and easy links to place on your sites. Commission rates are rather low, I sell laptops through my main site, an average priced laptop will bring in around $25 in commissions. A commission from Independent affiliate programs like Alienware or Rockdirect would be double or triple that amount. On the other hand, I found the conversion rate for Amazon to be higher, mainly (I believe) because people are used to buying from Amazon online, it has earned their respect and has a well earned reputation for service and quality. Consumers feel comfortable ordering from Amazon. You may earn less per sale but you make many more sales so it evens out. Note that payments are only done quarterly, but if you work Amazon to any extent, those checks can be quite large. My Number One Tactic For Using These Affiliate Networks Keep your eyes open and watch carefully to see which companies are doing a lot of advertising (TV, radio, newspapers) in the real world! Many times all this advertising will point to a popular trend or item that’s selling rapidly. Pick those same products or companies from any of the affiliate programs listed here and place the affiliate links on your sites. For instance, Dell does a lot of TV commercials... when people go online and come across a Dell product on your site, changes are good that they have already just watched a commercial for the same product and may be in the mood for more information or even in the market for that product. Pick companies that do a lot of advertising, are household names and very familiar to your website visitors. The Internet is still a very scary place in most people’s minds, a well known and well advertised product or company will help break down this barrier. It will make your job as an affiliate marketer just that much more easier. And help make those monthly commission checks just a little bit bigger. The Death of Google Adsense And Other Myths

Recent changes in the Google Adsense program has many online website owners and marketers seriously concerned. Many have seen their Adsense profits and income flatline... seen their four or five figure monthly Adsense income disappear overnight. For many the Google Adsense bubble has burst. What happened? First, Google made a change in its Adsense program, letting advertisers choose between putting their ads in the search results or on the content pages of Adsense publishers. Search won out and started to receive the higher bids. Search results convert better than content ads. Next, Google has cracked down on Junk Adsense sites, like they should. These sites consisted mainly of software generated re-hashed search engine links and were totally annoying to say the least. But Google also cracked down on ‘squeeze pages’ or ‘affiliate landing pages’ - a lucrative source of income for many online marketers, mainly because these pages helped marketers build an opt-in list or use permission based email. The results of these changes produced an Adsense meltdown for many online marketers. Some Internet marketers are speculating recent changes could even mean the death of Adsense. One online marketer, Scott Boulch even published a free report entitled ‘The Death of Adsense". Many affiliate marketers would agree with Boulch on some of his points, especially the obvious fact that using Adsense on your web content is starting on the bottom rung of the online marketing ladder. Instead of receiving pennies per click with Adsense, alert marketers and webmasters have already discovered that by using CPA (Cost-Per-Action) and direct affiliate links, they can produce significantly more revenue from their web pages. Why earn pennies per click when you can earn $5, $10 or OVER $100 per click? But the fine people at Google are catching on... In the past Google has made its own swing to the Cost-Per-Action direction with its referral system for the Firefox Browser and giving webmasters credit for signing up Adwords and Adsense accounts. Many online marketers believe Google needs to expand on these baby steps and open their Adsense affiliate program up to third party products/advertisers. In a recent company statement Google offered some hope: "We’re always looking for new ways to provide effective and useful features to advertisers, publishers, and users," the company stated "As part of these efforts we are currently testing a cost-per-action (CPA) pricing model to give advertisers more flexibility and provide publishers another way to earn revenue through AdSense." Basically, in cost-per-action, advertisers pay for leads, purchases or customer acquisition. It would help with the click fraud issue and the monetary returns could potentially make Adsense’s revenues pale in comparison. As more and more commerce goes online... acquiring customers for such diverse services as insurance, real estate, telephone, marketing, web hosting, travel, mortgage loans, cable TV, banking... you name it, almost any service or product sold in the marketplace is now turning to the Internet for customers and lifelong clients. Enormous sums of money will change hands. Perhaps, the most lucrative of these is customer acquisition. Advertisers are turning to the Internet and webmasters/marketers for acquiring these lifelong customers for their respective services and products. Businesses and companies are quickly realizing paying an attractive lead generating fee/commission is smart business. They quickly build a client base for their services or products and quickly recoup their expenses - realizing in the long run these leads will generate huge profits. It can also mean huge profits for the CPA networks like ValueClick’s Commission Junction and Rakuten’s LinkShare who supply the advertisers with publishers and website marketers to harvest these leads. It can be a lucrative venture for all involved, especially for those online marketers who have cornered the search engines for lucrative niche markets in big ticket items. Even small ticket items pay quite well for those marketers who know how to market online. Contextual advertising is fine, but CPA (Cost-Per-Action) will offer much better returns for the website owner. Making any profitable site much more profitable. It will and is opening up a whole area of marketing opportunities that never existed before we had the Internet. Creating a complex structure of advertisers, publishers and the Affiliate/CPA companies that connect the two. Of course, cutting out the middle man has always been even a more profitable venture for most marketers. As more and more webmasters realize they can make much more with dealing directly with companies, rather than going through a middle process like Google Adsense or the countless other affiliate/CPA networks ... online marketers can reap even bigger rewards. For an online marketer when you get a phone call or email from the CEO or the affiliate manager with a company or service you’re promoting with your website - you know you have made it! Dealing directly with a company usually means bigger commissions and special exclusive deals just for you or your sites. Only fly in the ointment, all that extra paperwork and business wheeling and dealing. Many marketers and website owners like the idea of someone else handling all the tracking, collecting payments, promotional materials... they just like to sit back and build more websites and content. It gives the affiliate marketer a lifestyle that they are looking for on the web. They just like to market and promote with their sites and let someone else worry about the details. Therefore, there will always be a place for contextual ads like Google Adsense... Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated. However, could CPA be a better alternative for the current Adsense contextual ads? Google would be the natural choice for a middleman if there ever was one. Besides, many savvy marketers know the Google brand name is trusted online, any product/service promoted through Google would be an easy sell. Many argue Google already dominates the web, why should it not be the one to handle these CPA transactions through its Adsense program. On the flip side, over countless updates and changes to its indexing, many webmasters have experienced more than a few negative dealings with Google. Many have won, many have lost in this Google Age, but all have realized riding the Google Search Engine is like running with the bulls at Pamplona, totally thrilling unless you’re one of the unfortunate few who get trampled in the process.... The Affiliate Marketing Method

One of the quickest and easiest methods of getting product on your website is to partner with an existing company and advertise their merchandise. While the results of this type of internet marketing varies greatly from one individual to another, it has consistently proven to be a good opportunity for both webmaster and the parent company to find willing customers for their merchandise.. In a nutshell, affiliate marketing is the process by which a company will provide advertising material in the form of text or personally identifiable HTML code to place on your web pages. This code will create banners or text blocks providing information about the products. In turn, when a customer clicks through the ad to the parent website and makes a purchase, the owner of the originating website will be paid a percentage of the sale as commission. The business of affiliate marketing has become so popular that a number of companies have formed to be a clearinghouse for retailers to use rather than each having to run the necessary tracking software to keep all the records straight. Companies like "Link Share" and "Commission Junction" provide the retailers with all the tools needed to find affiliates, provide the codes and tools for marketing and the ability to track the individual identifiers for each affiliate's account. Once a website owner has created an account with one of these affiliate clearinghouses, they are provided with a long list of companies they can contract with to find niche specific products to match the topic of their site. Payment on commissions is not done on a sale by sale basis. Each affiliate company will have a set minimum payout that must be reached either monthly or quarterly. If there have not been enough sales for that pay period, it will roll over to the next. This method is still better for the website owner as the sales commissions from all the companies he affiliates with will be placed into one payment rather than having to reach payout with every individual company he has advertising for on his site. While this method of generating income from your website is fairly easy to run, there are a few downside features. When a person visits a retailer from your site, there is placed a "cookie" on their machine that includes your personal identifying number. If they make the purchase right then you will get the credit. However, while some companies will create cookies that stay active for as much as a year, others will expire when the webpage or web browser is closed. This means that if a potential customer bookmarks the page to come back and make the purchase at a later date, the cookie information may have expired or been deleted and you will not get credit for that sale. The best way to insure that you will make a respectable income with affiliate marketing is to create an interesting and informative site in your specific topic and fine tune your advertised products to match that interest. Google Adsense Profits Mixed In With Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing has become one of the most effective ways to advertise online. It is also one of the easiest ways for anyone with a website to make a profit online. Affiliate Marketing is an agreement between a merchant and a website owner. The website owner, or the affiliate, allows the use of their site for the promotion of the merchant's products by linking to the merchant's website. In exchange, the merchant pays a commission to the affiliate on all sales generated by the affiliate. Every time someone clicks on the link on the affiliate website and proceeds to make a purchase, the affiliate gets a commission. The merchant will pay the affiliate only when a customer clicks on the product link and makes a purchase. Are you a webmaster who needs funds to keep your website running? Or is your website the only way for you to earn income? Whichever you are, for as long as you are a webmaster or a web publisher and you need cash, affiliate marketing may work well for you. With affiliate marketing, you may get a lot of cash pouring into your bank account easily. And if your website is rich in great contents and you want to earn more profit, why not get into the Google Adsense program as well? Why Affiliate Marketing? Well, simply because affiliate marketing is the easiest and probably the best way to earn profits online, unless otherwise you are a businessman and would rather sell your own products online than advertise other businessman’s products on your site. But even online retailers can benefit from affiliate marketing programs, because affiliate marketing actually works for merchants as well as it works for the affiliates. Affiliate marketing, simply said, is a relationship or agreement made between two websites, with one site being the merchant’s website and the other being the affiliate’s site. In the relationship, the affiliate agrees to let the merchant advertise his products on the affiliate’s site. The merchant, on the other hand, would agree to pay the affiliate in whatever method they have agreed into. This would generally mean easy income for the affiliate, as he would do nothing but place the retailer’s ad on his site. This would also be very beneficial for the merchant, as getting affiliates to advertise their products would be a lot more affordable than hiring an advertising firm to promote their products. There are a variety of methods on how the merchant would compensate the affiliate for his services, and for the webmaster, these methods simply translates to the method by which he would earn easy cash. Among the more common methods of compensation are the pay-per-click method, the pay-per-lead method, and the pay-per-sale method. The pay-per-click method is the method most preferred by affiliates, for their site’s visitor would only have to visit the advertiser’s site for them to gain money. The other two methods, on the other hand, are better preferred by merchants, as they would only have to compensate you if your visitor becomes one of their registrants or if the visitor would actually buy their products. Getting much profit on affiliate marketing programs, however, does not depend so much on the compensation method is it does on the traffic generated by your site. A website that can attract more visitors would generally have the greater chance of profiting in affiliate marketing programs. What about Google Adsense? Google Adsense is actually some sort of an affiliate marketing program. In Google Adsense, Google act as the intermediary between the affiliates and the merchants. The merchant, or the advertiser, would simply sign up with Google and provide the latter with text ads pertaining to their products. These ads, which is actually a link to the advertiser’s website, would then appear on Google searches as well as on the websites owned by the affiliates, or by those webmasters who have signed up with the Google Adsense program. While one can find a lot of similarities between Google Adsense and other affiliate marketing programs, you can also see a lot of differences. In Google Adsense, all the webmaster has to do is place a code on his website and Google takes care of the rest. The ads that Google would place on your site would generally be relevant to the content of your site. This would be advantageous both for you and for the advertiser, as the visitors of your site would more or less be actually interested with the products being advertised. The Google Adsense program compensates the affiliate in a pay-per-click basis. The advertisers would pay Google a certain amount each time their ad on your site is clicked and Google would then forward this amount to you through checks, although only after Google have deducted their share of the amount. Google Adsense checks are usually delivered monthly. Also, the Google Adsense program provides webmasters with a tracking tool that allows you to monitor the earnings you actually get from a certain ad. So, where do all of these lead us to? Where else but to profits, profits and even more profits! Affiliate marketing programs and the Google Adsense program simply work, whether you are the merchant or the affiliate. For the merchant’s side, a lot of money can be saved if advertising effort is concentrated on affiliate marketing rather than on dealing with advertising firms. For the webmaster, you can easily gain a lot of profits just by doing what you do best, and that is by creating websites. And if you combine all your profits from both the Google Adsense program and other affiliate marketing programs, it would surely convert to a large amount of cash. All the same, the best benefit of being an affiliate marketer is the opportunity to increase your income; and you can make a profit even if affiliate marketing is only a sideline business. With your own affiliate business, you can earn easily earn extra income, although you do have to exert effort and use your imagination to maximize your earning potential. Indeed, affiliate marketing is one of the simplest and most effective business opportunities on the web today. I tried the principles in this book. I set up some ads for a variety of products and different companies through Commission Junction and was, at first, delighted that I was getting a good amount of clicks. I was confident the ads were good enough because of some experience I've had in the past writing copy. However, after over 250 clicks to major websites that boasted a large earnings per click, I got one sale and a large $ loss. Affiliate Marketing With Google Adwords

One of the best kept secrets in today's affiliate marketing world is the pay per click advertising version with Google AdWords. Adwords allows advertisers to place small ads on websites or on Google.com search result pages. You probably noticed the little advertisements to the right on Google.com.
In Affiliate Marketing you are promoting 3rd party products and in return you earn a share of a sale generated from your marketing efforts. We all have seen those little Amazon.com banners on different websites. These would be a very simple form of affiliate marketing. More sophisticated versions are complete stores build around Amazon.com or based on data feeds from other vendors. In some cases the affiliate has to build his own website and store - in others there are white label website templates or pages available for the affiliate to work with. Only when it comes to the actual sale the customer is redirected to the 3rd party vendor who carries the actual product.
Not a new variant but a not very well-known version of affiliate marketing is the promotion of affiliate product links/websites via Google AdWords. The power of advertising on Google.com is combined with the affiliate link. The affiliate partner does not need a website anymore, he directly links the customer to the 3rd party. With Google AdWords very targeted marketing is possible and well-written ads equipped with the right keywords can bring in big bucks. All the affiliate has to do is to figure out which keywords are affordable to promote. And that's where secret to success is. Everyone can buy the expensive and obvious keywords to promote products but when it comes to affiliate success via PPC advertising (aka Google AdWords) the inexperienced marketing folks are being weeded out or are left with big holes in their pockets. Finding the right combination of keywords, target group, ad copy is the critical piece of the puzzle.
Overall - affiliate marketing via PPC on Google or via Overture (competitor of Google AdWords) can be very lucrative and quite a few people are making a living of it. It sounds easy to do but to break into this field a new affiliate needs a lot of luck, big bucks or patience and knowledge.
